Social Season Begins

We just returned from our first of many out-of-town trips this spring (and probably summer). We were in Austin visiting the Moodys. Alice ("Baby Ally") turned 3, and she officially is a big girl. She is every bit of 3 years old, and we loved it! Alex was surprised that Ally was an actual kid, not that baby we used to just sit and observe. The girls were up quite late last night and hit the ground running this morning, even played in Billy's old-school VW van -- can't believe I didn't get a photo of that :p

We drove down to the neatest dancing water splash pad area at a park near downtown. We've been before, but I can't remember the name of the park. There were even a couple of lemonade stands nearby. One kid approached us and asked us to visit his stand. When Jessica asked who the money was for, he said it was for himself -- he was trying to raise $200 for a pool for his backyard, he said. His parents were there and everything helping him. I guess there's nothing wrong with that -- it just caught me off-guard.

More photos on Facebook.

and another thing ... whenever you get a chocolate-dipped cone, make sure they dip the chocolate all the way down to the cone, thereby encasing the ice cream and avoiding disaster.
