Busy, busy

We are getting back to normal after a whirlwind trip to Oklahoma this weekend for niece/new OSU grad Paris' graduation party AND family portraits AND church AND the annual Mother's Day gathering. All fun, but never enough time!

Alex abandoned Gerald and me Sunday afternoon to run around with her cousin Lauryn and great-aunt Judy. Gerald and I went to visit family. Four hours later, we still hadn't heard from Alex. It sure is nice to be around family and not worry about my child when she's away from us.

I managed to grab some brisket, turkey and cake before we left the party Sunday evening -- what else do you need? Oh, and Gerald accidentally grabbed a bag that belonged to his mom. Inside was a cute brown sweater, which she said I could go ahead and keep. Sweet. She also gave me a cute candle holder/vase thing for Mom's Day. I don't have a lot of that kind of stuff. Alex netted some candy, toys and about $40 from various family members.

I'm looking forward to seeing the family portraits we took Saturday afternoon, with Gerald's parents, their 3 kids and spouses, and all 5 grandkids. Those people are crazy, but also lots of fun. It was an entertaining afternoon at the studio.

We also made it to the outlet mall in Allen on Saturday on our way to Oklahoma. I finally got my beloved boat shoes, about a year after I decided I wanted some. They're already broken in.

We got home Monday about 3 a.m. Miraculously, we made it to work and school. Now we prepare for another visit to Austin, this weekend for a wedding. I'm excited!
