Easter 2010

Here's wishing everyone a wonderful Easter afterglow this week. There's no reason not to rejoice or be grateful -- and quite humbled -- this week.

We had a good weekend. And only one casualty - a chocolate bunny sent via UPS. (More photos) But Alex's grandpa made a call, and a replacement fudge bunny head and other goods showed up on Friday. This photo is the remains of the bunny, after we reconstituted him in the refrigerator.

We had an egg hunt at Girl Scouts on Thursday. Spent a quiet day at home on Friday. And on Saturday, Mission Arlington hosted a great event, complete with hay rides, lunch, and a non-competitive, highly lucrative egg hunt, which put this mom at ease (600,000 eggs in all). We went with friends Flicia and her girls Dominique and DayDay.

We colored eggs later that day, which I hid on Sunday in the front yard for an ad hoc hunt (along with some plastic eggs that I had hidden in my trunk just in case the other events got rained out).

Alex woke up extra early Sunday to see if the Easter bunny had come. She knew I was skeptical, but she had hope. Luckily, Gerald made a late-night trip after Alex went to sleep to make sure the Easter bunny made it to the house. He brought her some more candy :\ , a cute craft kit, and a stuffed dog, which she named, umm, Easter Bunny.
